2797.06

John Deere 2797.06 – ECU: Injector High Voltage Supply #1 Circuit Has Low Resistance

Issue description

Resistance in the circuit to the first injection valve (or Bank 1) is too low, indicating a short to ground that can cause excessive current flow, overheating, and damage to the injection valve or its associated wiring.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect all wiring and connections in the injection valve circuitry for breaks, chafing, or disconnections that could result in a short to ground.

  2. Utilize a digital multimeter to verify resistance levels in the injector circuit and compare the readings against normal values to identify the exact location of the short.

Repair steps

  1. Isolate the Short

Based on your multimeter readings, determine if the short to ground is located within the engine wiring harness or internal to the fuel injector itself.

  2. Repair or Replace Damaged Components

Repair any chafed/broken wires in the harness. If the wiring is severely damaged or the short is internal to the injector, replace the affected fuel injector wiring harness or the fuel injector.

  3. Reset the ECU

Once the physical repair is complete, reset the Engine Control Unit to clear the stored 002797.06 fault code.

  4. Conduct Functional Tests

Start the engine and perform detailed functional tests to confirm the electrical continuity is restored, the resistance is correct, and the repair has fully resolved the issue without the code returning.
