John Deere 2829.31 – FCC: Reverse Drive Lever, Park Lock Switch, and Neutral Switch or Power Zero Switch Activated Simultaneously for Too Long a Period

This error code is generated when the control software receives signals indicating the reverse drive lever is in an undefined or intermediate position over an extended period. Specifically, it triggers when a park lock switch signal (corner park or center park) is received simultaneously with a neutral switch or power zero switch signal for too long. The transmission system is disabled for safety.

   Clear the Code

   Place the drive lever in Neutral or Park and cycle the tractor's ignition power. If the code was triggered by operator error (holding the lever between gears), this will resolve the issue.

   If the code persists, remove the steering column cowlings to access the Forward/Reverse (Shuttle) Lever assembly and its wiring harness.

   Check the wiring harness leading from the Forward/Reverse lever to the Front Chassis Control (FCC) module. Look for chafed wires or pushed-out pins in the connectors that could be bridging the park and neutral circuits.

   Using a multimeter, test the internal switches of the reverse drive lever (Park Lock, Neutral, and Power Zero). If the switches are sticking or failing to open/close properly, the lever assembly is faulty.
