3032.02

John Deere 3032.02 – OIC / TIA / CCU / XMB: Position of Right Brake Pedal, Out of Valid Range

Issue description

The control software has detected that the right brake pedal sensor is providing invalid voltage signals (over 2 volts when the brake pedal switch is closed, or less than 1.1 volts when the brake pedal switch is open). This causes the control software to limit or disable the function of the brake pedal sensor unit, affecting braking performance.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness and connectors associated with the right brake pedal sensor unit for physical damage, loose connections, or corrosion.

  2. Test the sensor voltage output with a multimeter to ensure readings are within the valid range (1.1 to 2 volts). Verify it does not read over 2V when the switch is closed or less than 1.1V when open.

  3. Verify the right brake pedal switch operation mechanically to ensure it opens and closes properly without sticking.

Repair steps

  1. Repair Wiring

If any damaged wiring, loose pins, or corroded connectors were found during the diagnostic checks, repair or replace the affected harness sections.

  2. Replace the Brake Pedal Switch

If the brake pedal switch is mechanically binding or failing to open/close the circuit properly, replace the switch.

  3. Replace the Brake Pedal Sensor

If the wiring is intact but the sensor's voltage output remains out of the valid range (or fails the multimeter test), remove and replace the right brake pedal position sensor unit.

  4. Update Control Software

Ensure that the tractor's control software (OIC/CCU/TIA) is updated to the latest version, as firmware updates can improve the module's handling of brake pedal sensor signals.

  5. Clear and Test

Clear the fault codes, cycle the ignition, and monitor the system performance to ensure the brake pedal sensor functions correctly and the error does not recur. (Note: Some models may require a sensor calibration procedure via the monitor after replacement).
