   Inspect the physical condition of the air throttle actuator for mechanical restrictions, carbon buildup, or damage that could prevent the butterfly valve from reaching its commanded position.

   Check the actuator shaft connecting the actuator to the butterfly valve to see if it has snapped.

   Run a Harness Diagnostic Mode test using John Deere Service Advisor to visually verify if the actuator moves smoothly through its full range.

   Check for associated codes (such as resistance too high/low or sensor out of range codes) which might point to a wiring harness issue rather than a failed actuator.

   Remove the Faulty Component

   If mechanical binding is found, the shaft is broken, or the actuator fails the diagnostic sweep test, remove the faulty air throttle actuator (Engine Air Intake Valve) from the intake piping.

   Install the New Actuator

   Mount the replacement air throttle actuator and reconnect the wiring harness.

   Calibrate the Actuator

   Use John Deere Service Advisor (or a compatible heavy-duty diagnostic tool) to perform a recalibration of the new throttle actuator. This aligns its operational range with the ECU's expectations.

   Reset the ECU

   Clear the fault codes and reset the ECU to ensure it properly recognizes the actuator's new state.

   Operational Test

   Run the engine to verify that the derate condition is lifted, the exhaust filter cleaning system is available, and the fault code does not return.
