John Deere 3509.01 – Transmission Module IVT (PTA): Issue With 5 Volt Supply On Transmission Oil Lube Pressure Sensor.
Issue description
The controller is detecting an abnormal voltage (likely out of range, shorted to ground, or shorted to power) on the 5-volt reference circuit that supplies power to the transmission oil lube pressure sensor. When the 5-volt supply is compromised, the sensor cannot send an accurate pressure reading back to the controller, which can result in transmission derating, failure to calibrate, or low lube pressure warnings.

Check the cause
Visually inspect the wiring harness leading to the Transmission Oil Lube Pressure Sensor on the IVT transmission for rubbed wires, pinched harnesses, or debris.
Disconnect the sensor and check the pins for corrosion, moisture, or poor terminal tension. Ensure the connector is seated properly.
Using a multimeter, probe the power and ground pins at the sensor connector (with the key on, engine off) to verify a solid 5 volts.
Perform a wiggle test on the wiring harness along its routing back to the PTA module while monitoring the multimeter for voltage drops or fluctuations.
If voltage is low or zero, unplug other sensors on the shared 5V reference circuit one by one; if the 5V reference returns, the last sensor unplugged is internally shorted.

Disconnect Power
Turn off the machine and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes during repair.
Isolate the Fault
Based on the diagnostic checks, determine if the fault is in the wiring harness or the sensor itself.
Repair Wiring (If Applicable)
If the 5V supply wire is shorted or broken, splice and repair the damaged section of the harness using OEM-approved weather-sealed connectors, or replace the affected harness section.
Replace the Sensor (If Applicable)
If the wiring tests good but the sensor is internally shorting the 5-volt supply, remove the faulty Transmission Oil Lube Pressure Sensor from the IVT housing. Install the new sensor and torque to OEM specifications.
Reassemble and Clear Codes
Reconnect the sensor and the battery. Connect John Deere Service Advisor (or a compatible diagnostic tool) to clear the 03509.01 fault code.
Test and Calibrate
Start the tractor and verify that the 5V supply code does not return. Depending on the severity of the transmission fault, an IVT hydro calibration may need to be performed via Service Advisor before returning the tractor to the field.
