   Verify the tractor's overall system voltage at the battery and alternator to ensure the alternator is not overcharging the entire system.

   Visually inspect the wiring harness connecting to the Cab Control Unit for chafing, pinching, or melted insulation that could cause the Supply 3 / Secondary ELX Output 1 wire to short against a 12V power source.

   Check the OIC/CAB connectors (A110X1, A110X2, A110X3) for corrosion, moisture ingress, or bent pins.

   Disconnect the harness from the OIC and use a multimeter to test the specific Supply 3 circuit pins for a short to battery voltage.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical damage.

   Access the Module

   Locate the Cab Control Unit (OIC) inside the cab command center console.

   Disconnect and Isolate

   Unplug the harness connectors from the OIC.

   Repair Wiring

   If your multimeter tests revealed a short to power in the harness, trace the wire back through the cab routing. Repair any damaged, chafed, or shorted wires using OEM-approved splicing methods and heat shrink.

   Replace the OIC

   If the wiring harness tests perfectly fine (no external short to power), the internal circuitry of the Cab Control Unit has likely failed and is shorting internally. Remove the mounting hardware and replace the OIC.

   Reassemble and Program

   Reconnect the harness and the battery. Note: A new Cab Control Unit will require software programming/flashing via John Deere Service ADVISOR to sync with the tractor's CAN bus network.

   Clear Codes and Test

   Clear the stored 003599.03 fault code and perform an operational test of the cab controls to ensure the code does not return.
