John Deere 4795.13 – Engine Control Unit (ECU): The Exhaust Filter Code Is Not Accepted By The ECU / Exhaust Filter Calibration Fault

The Engine Control Unit (ECU) has detected an incorrect or invalid calibration code entered for the exhaust filter (Diesel Particulate Filter - DPF, or Diesel Oxidation Catalyst - DOC). Proper calibration is essential for the accurate functioning of the exhaust aftertreatment system. When this code is active, engine speed and power are limited, and active exhaust filter cleaning is disabled, which will eventually result in a loss of machine availability.

   Using John Deere Service ADVISOR, navigate to the Control Unit Information and Overview Test to check the DOC or DPF calibration information displayed in the software.

   Locate the physical data sheet/tag on the installed DOC or DPF unit on the machine's exhaust system.

   Verify that the calibration data displayed in the ECU matches the information printed on the physical exhaust filter part data sheet.

   Connect Diagnostic Tool

   Connect the John Deere Service ADVISOR tool to the machine's diagnostic port.

   Perform Calibration Update

   If the diagnostic check reveals that the data in the ECU does not match the physical DPF/DOC data tag, you must perform an Exhaust Filter Calibration.

   Enter Correct Code

   Manually enter the correct calibration code found on the physical DPF/DOC data sheet into the ECU via the Service ADVISOR prompt.

   Clear Codes

   Once the correct calibration code is accepted by the ECU, clear the active 004795.13 fault code.

   Test Operation

   Cycle the key (turn the machine off, then back to the ON position) and verify that the code does not return and that active exhaust filter cleaning is no longer disabled.
