John Deere 516454.13 – SCO (Front Chassis Module): SCV 10 Calibration Issue / E-SCV X Not Calibrated / Front Hitch Calibration Fault
Issue description
One or more functions within the control software for the Selective Control Valve (E-SCV X) are active, but the valve has not yet been successfully calibrated. Because the controller lacks the learned parameters, the control software may limit the functionality of the SCV or disable it entirely to prevent erratic hydraulic operation.

Check the cause
Verify Software Version: Check the SCO module to ensure the control software is up-to-date. Incompatible or outdated software can prevent successful calibration.
Check for Accompanying Codes: Look for related CAN Bus communication codes (like SCO 516454.14) or voltage/temperature codes (like SCO 516455.00 or 516458.00). If the SCV has a voltage or communication fault, it will fail calibration. Address those codes first.
Hydraulic System Readiness: Ensure the tractor's hydraulic fluid is at normal operating temperature, as cold oil can cause calibration procedures to time out or fail.
Repair steps
Warm Up the Machine
Start the tractor and operate the hydraulics until the hydraulic oil reaches normal operating temperature.
Access Calibration Menu
Using the tractor's CommandCenter display or John Deere Service ADVISOR, navigate to the SCO module calibrations and select the specific E-SCV (SCV 10 / Front Hitch) calibration procedure.
Perform Calibration
Follow the on-screen prompts to run the automated calibration. The system will stroke the valve to learn its electrical and mechanical limits.
Update Software (If Calibration Fails)
If the calibration fails or the code immediately returns, flash the SCO controller with the latest software payload via Service ADVISOR, then attempt the calibration again.
Clear Codes
Once calibration is successful, clear the stored diagnostic trouble codes and test the SCV/Front Hitch for proper operation.

(2)Electronic Selective Control Valve (E-SCV) Slice / Front Hitch Valve Actuator
AL222919Typical 6R series SCV slice. Varies heavily by exact tractor model, hydraulic pump capacity, and valve stack position. If a new slice is installed, calibration must be performed to marry the new valve to the SCO module.
