Check the cause
Connect the John Deere Service ADVISOR diagnostic tool to the machine's diagnostic port.
Perform a CAN bus network scan to identify all active controllers.
Check the current software payload versions for the Front Chassis Module (SCO) and compare them against the main vehicle controller and other chassis modules.
Verify if there are any active Service Information Bulletins (SIBs) or PIPs (Product Improvement Programs) related to software updates for the specific machine's PIN (Product Identification Number).
Repair steps
Ensure the tractor's battery is fully charged and connected to a stable battery maintainer, as voltage drops during programming can brick the module.
Turn the key switch to the ON position (engine OFF).
Using John Deere Service ADVISOR, navigate to the Controller Programming or Software Update menu.
Select the Front Chassis Module (SCO).
Download and flash the latest compatible software payload for the SCO module. (In some cases, you may need to update the entire tractor's software payload so that all modules are on the same release version).
Once the flash is complete, cycle the key switch OFF for at least 30 seconds to allow the modules to power down and save their new states.
Turn the key back ON and clear all stored fault codes.
Start the machine and verify that code 516457.14 does not return.
