   Inspect the wiring harness running from the SCO (Front Chassis Module) to the SCV 10 valve / front hitch actuator for chafed wires, pinched harnesses, or melted insulation.

   Disconnect the harness at the SCV 10 actuator and inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture ingress, or bent terminals.

   Using a digital multimeter, test the signal wire for a short-to-voltage with the key ON (engine off) and the actuator disconnected.

   Test the internal resistance of the SCV 10 / Front Hitch actuator to determine if it has shorted internally.

   Disconnect Power

   Always disconnect the negative battery cable before servicing electrical components or control modules.

   Repair Wiring

   If a short-to-power is found in the harness, splice and repair the damaged section using weather-sealed heat shrink connectors, or replace the affected harness section.

   Replace the Actuator

   If the harness tests good but the actuator is internally shorted: Clean the area around the SCV 10 valve or front hitch control valve, remove the retaining bolts/screws holding the electronic actuator to the valve body, install the new actuator, and torque the retaining hardware to OEM specifications.

   Reassembly and Calibration

   Reconnect the electrical harness and the battery.

   Clear and Test

   Clear the stored 516458.00 code using a diagnostic tool or the tractor's onboard diagnostic monitor. Cycle the SCV 10 / Front Hitch controls to verify the code does not return and the valve operates smoothly. (Note: Some SCV actuators may require a calibration procedure via the tractor's display after replacement).
