Check the cause

  1. Verify Sensor Accuracy: Use the tractor's diagnostic display (CommandCenter) to monitor the live temperature reading of SCV 5. If the temperature reads extremely high immediately upon a cold startup, the temperature sensor or its wiring harness is likely shorted or faulty.

  2. Check Hydraulic Fluid: Verify the hydraulic/transmission oil level and condition. Low fluid levels or degraded oil can cause poor heat dissipation.

  3. Inspect for Internal Leakage: Check if the SCV 5 valve is internally leaking. If oil is bypassing the valve cartridge instead of holding pressure, it will generate significant heat.

  4. Test Load-Sensing (LS) and Relief Valves: Ensure the implement connected to SCV 5 is not deadheading or causing the relief valve to operate continuously, which dumps high-pressure oil back to the tank as heat.

Repair steps
