John Deere 520490.03 – CLC (Cab Load Center / Cab Module): ISO BUS Socket High Voltage / Implement Power Relay Module Circuit Voltage High
Issue description
The controller is detecting a higher-than-expected voltage on the circuit that supplies power to the implement via the rear ISOBUS socket. This condition is typically caused by a short-to-power in the wiring harness, a corroded/damaged ISOBUS socket bridging connections, or an internal failure of the Implement Power Relay Module.

Check the cause
Isolate the Implement: Disconnect any implement plugged into the tractor's ISOBUS socket and cycle the key. If the code goes away, the short-to-power is on the implement side.
Inspect the ISOBUS Socket: Check the 9-pin ISOBUS breakaway socket at the rear of the tractor for heavy dirt, water intrusion, corrosion, or bent pins that could be bridging a 12V power pin to the signal circuit.
Check the Implement Power Relay Module: Inspect the connector (often labeled A100X1 / A100X2) for signs of melting, corrosion, or pushed-out pins.
Harness Testing: Using a multimeter, test the wiring harness between the CLC, the Implement Power Relay Module, and the ISOBUS socket for a short to battery voltage.
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical spikes during repair.
Clean or Replace the Socket
If the diagnostic checks revealed a corroded or damaged ISOBUS socket, unbolt the socket from the rear bracket, disconnect the harness, and install a new ISOBUS socket assembly.
Replace the Implement Power Relay Module
If the socket and wiring harness are in good condition, the fault is likely an internal short inside the Implement Power Relay Module. Locate the module, unplug the multi-pin connectors, unbolt the module from its mounting bracket, install the replacement unit, and reconnect the harnesses securely.
Clear Codes
Reconnect the battery. Turn the key to the ON position. Use the tractor's CommandCenter display or John Deere Service ADVISOR to clear the stored 520490.03 code.
Verify Repair
Plug in an ISOBUS implement and verify that the implement powers up correctly without the code returning.
