John Deere 520529.14 – SCO (Front Chassis Module): Front Loader Boom Position Sensor Calibration
Issue description
The tractor's control system has detected that the Return-to-Position (RTP) or Electronic Self-Leveling (ESL) function for the front loader boom has lost its calibration values or has never been calibrated.

Check the cause
Inspect the front loader boom position sensor for physical damage or loose mounting hardware
Check the sensor wiring harness and connectors for any signs of damage, corrosion, or loose connections
Verify that there is no short to ground or open circuit in the sensor wiring
Repair steps
Start the tractor and allow the CommandCenter™ display to boot up.
Navigate to the Controls Setup menu on the display.
Select Calibration and locate the Front Loader Boom Position Sensor Calibration (or Return-to-Position calibration).
Follow the on-screen prompts.
You will typically be required to move the loader boom to its mechanical limits (e.g., fully lowered to the ground, and fully raised) to teach the SCO module the sensor's voltage range at these extremes.
Save the calibration.
If the calibration fails to save or the code immediately returns, replace the boom position sensor and repeat the calibration procedure.
