The bucket position sensor has an invalid calibration, is out of its mechanical range, or requires recalibration to accurately report the loader bucket's angle to the control system.

   Inspect the bucket position sensor wiring harness for physical damage, specifically looking for pinched harnesses due to improper routing

   Test the circuit for a short to power or short to ground, which can cause the sensor to lose its calibration data

   Verify that the sensor is not physically out of mechanical alignment or damaged from debris

   Resolve Wiring Issues

   If the harness is pinched or damaged, repair or replace the wiring harness to prevent the new sensor from shorting out. Ensure the new harness is routed properly away from pinch points on the loader frame.

   Replace the Sensor

   If the sensor has internally shorted due to the wiring failure or physical damage, remove the old sensor from the loader arm/linkage and install the replacement.

   Recalibrate the System

   Once the hardware is verified, perform a bucket position sensor calibration using the tractor's onboard monitor or by connecting the John Deere Service ADVISOR diagnostic tool to reset the mechanical limits (full rollback to full dump).
