John Deere 520870.13 – CSC: Cab Suspension Settings Error / CSC Control Unit Fault

Issue description

The configuration data for the cab suspension system has experienced a fault and has been reset to its default factory settings. It is often associated with a calibration error in the control software or a failure during the reading process of the internal EEPROM memory module.

Applies to these machines

  • 6110RC
  • 6020 to 6920S

Check the cause

  1. Cycle the power by turning the tractor's key switch off and back on to see if the configuration code clears.

  2. Verify the cab suspension settings on the CommandCenter display, as the fault causes the system to revert to default settings.

  3. Inspect the wiring harness leading to the cab position sensor, specifically checking for a broken 5-volt wire just behind the connector.

  4. Check the CSC module's internal EEPROM memory for faults to ensure configuration data can be read and stored correctly.

Repair steps

  1. Verify and Re-enter Settings

Access the CommandCenter and manually check/re-enter your preferred cab suspension settings.

  2. Re-calibrate the CSC System

Perform a full CSC system calibration (Cab Suspension Calibration) to correct any discrepancies in the configuration data stored in the EEPROM.

  3. Repair Wiring

If the 5-volt wire or ground wire at the cab position sensor harness is broken or rubbed through, splice and repair the connection.

  4. Replace the Cab Position Sensor

If the sensor itself is internally shorted or failing to provide accurate voltage during calibration, replace it.

  5. Replace the CSC Module

If the EEPROM memory within the CSC is found to be permanently defective (meaning it continuously loses its configuration data and resets to default), the Cab Suspension Control Unit must be replaced. After replacement, conduct comprehensive testing and a fresh calibration.

Parts you might need
