   Perform a system power cycle by turning the ignition switch off, waiting a few moments, and turning it back on to see if temporary EEPROM read errors clear.

   Inspect physical wiring and connections to the TID / EEPROM module for loose, corroded, or damaged wires that could interrupt power or CAN BUS communication.

   Connect John Deere Service ADVISOR to verify the current control software version on the TID module.

   Reset the System

   Perform a hard reset of the tractor's electrical system to attempt clearing the error.

   Secure Connections

   If any loose or damaged wires were found during the diagnostic phase, repair the harness and secure the connections to the module.

   Update Control Software

   Flash the TID module with the latest control software using Service ADVISOR to patch known EEPROM read errors and improve system stability.

   Replace the Module

   If the error persists after a software update and wiring verification, the internal EEPROM is permanently faulty and the Direct Drive Gear Shift Module (TID) must be replaced.

   Recalibrate

   After replacing the module, use Service ADVISOR to program the new module to the tractor and perform any required transmission calibrations.
