The module's internal memory (EEPROM) has failed a read/write check, meaning the software cannot retrieve its stored configuration or operational data. The control software's reaction is to limit or completely disable the module's functions for safety.

   Cycle the power by turning the ignition off, waiting for the modules to power down completely, and restarting the tractor to see if the fault is active or intermittent

   Verify that the ignition supply and battery voltage to the Front Chassis Module (SCO) are within normal operating ranges (12V system) to rule out low voltage triggers

   Inspect the CAN bus wiring and the main connector to the SCO module for corrosion, moisture intrusion, or bent pins

   Connect John Deere Service ADVISOR to check if a software re-flash or update is available for the SCO module to repair corrupted EEPROM data

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical arcing or further CAN bus corruption.

   Locate the Module

   Locate the Front Chassis Module (SCO) / SCV Controller (typically mounted under the cab or near the front SCV valve stack, depending on the exact 6R configuration).

   Remove the Module

   Disconnect the multi-pin wiring harnesses from the module. Remove the mounting bolts and extract the faulty unit.

   Install the New Module

   Mount the replacement SCO module and securely reconnect the wiring harnesses, ensuring the weather seals on the connectors are intact.

   Reconnect Power

   Reconnect the negative battery cable.

   Calibrate and Program
