   Unplug the wiring harness from the switch. Inspect the harness connector for green corrosion or moisture. Clean the connector thoroughly with electrical contact cleaner if dirty.

   Replace the Switch

   If the switch is internally shorted or physically sticking, install a new direct replacement switch. Ensure proper alignment with the switch seal and the fender housing.

   Apply Dielectric Grease

   Apply dielectric grease to the electrical connections before reassembly to seal out moisture and prevent future corrosion.

   Reassemble and Test

   Reinstall the rubber boot (replace it if it is torn, as this is the primary cause of switch failure). Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, and test the external raise/lower functions to ensure the code is cleared and the hitch operates smoothly.
