521128.08

John Deere 521128.08 – AIC (Armrest Interface Control Unit): CommandQuad™ Range Switch BCDE Fault

Issue description

One or more of the CommandQuad range switches (B, C, D, or E) is reading as continuously pressed or stuck. As a safety override, the system automatically commands the transmission into PARK (PARK Position Recoverable) to prevent unintended movement.

Applies to these machines

  • 6110M
  • 6120M
  • 6130M
  • 6145M
  • 6155M
  • 6175M
  • 6195M
  • 5R Series
  • 5090R
  • 5100R
  • 5115R
  • 5125R
  • 6M Series
  • 6150M
  • 6R Series

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the CommandQuad range switches (B, C, D, E) on the armrest console for physical binding, stickiness, or debris.

  2. Manually manipulate the affected switch to ensure it returns to the unpressed (neutral/released) position.

  3. Turn the tractor's key switch off, wait a few moments, and turn the power back on to see if the system recovers and the code clears.

  4. Look for other AIC codes (such as 521128.31 or 521132.02) which might indicate a deeper wiring short rather than a mechanically stuck button.

Repair steps

  1. Clean the Console

If the switch is stuck due to debris, carefully clean the edges of the CommandQuad range buttons using electrical contact cleaner or compressed air.

  2. Free the Switch

Gently actuate the switch multiple times to free up the internal spring mechanism.

  3. Test Operation

Turn the tractor on. If the transmission can be shifted out of PARK and the code goes inactive, the issue was a mechanically stuck button.

  4. Replace the Module (If Failed)

If the button is physically broken, permanently jammed, or if the internal contacts have shorted out (and cleaning/resetting does not clear the code), the armrest switch matrix/keypad module must be replaced.

  5. Clear Codes

After replacing the switch module, cycle the key power and use a diagnostic tool (or the CommandCenter display) to clear the stored fault codes.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • CommandQuad Armrest Range Switch Module / Armrest Interface Control Keypad

    AXE27553

Fitment varies heavily by exact tractor series and cab configuration. Verify exact part number against specific machine's serial number.
