Check the cause

  1. Inspect the stereo volume decrease button on the CommandARM console for physical sticking, spilled liquids, or debris lodged in the switch mechanism.

  2. Inspect the wiring harness connecting the CommandARM to the main cab harness for pinches, chafing, or loose connections.

  3. Check the connections at the Armrest Interface Control (AIC) board inside the armrest for loose connectors or corrosion.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts or static damage during disassembly.

  2. Remove CommandARM

Remove the CommandARM assembly from the operator seat.

  3. Disconnect Connectors

Remove the securing screws and disconnect the navigation bar connector.

  4. Access the Internals

Lower the bottom cover of the CommandARM to access the internal modules and the AIC board.

  5. Handle Circuit Boards Safely

CRITICAL OEM WARNING: The AIC board is highly susceptible to static electricity damage. You must use a grounding strap when handling the circuit boards. Only handle the circuit boards by their edges. Bending the circuit board will cause damage to the chips.

  6. Replace the Module

Disconnect the control harness from the armrest control unit. Replace the faulty CommandARM Switch Module (CSM) or the specific shortcut bar control containing the stereo switches.

  7. Reassembly

Install the new module and reassemble the CommandARM in the reverse order of disassembly.
