John Deere 521166.08 – CSM: Temperature Control Button (+) / Cab Fan Temperature Up Button Fault

The control module detects the "Temperature Up" button is being continuously activated (pressed down or shorted) for more than 60 seconds during system initialization. As a safety and operational response, the control software will restrict or completely disable the function of that button until the fault is resolved.

   Inspect the 'Temperature Up' button on the armrest/cab switch module for physical binding, stickiness, or debris.

   Perform a tactile test by pressing the button with the machine off to ensure it has a normal 'click' and springs back up immediately.

   Cycle the key switch (turn tractor off, wait, turn back on) to see if the module resets and clears a temporary glitch.

   Clean the Switch Area

   If the button is physically sticking, use an electronics-safe contact cleaner and a microfiber cloth to carefully clean around the edges of the button. Work the button up and down to free any sticky residue.

   Clear the Code

   Turn the ignition on to initialize the CSM. If the button is no longer stuck, the 60-second initialization check should pass, and the code will move to an inactive state.

   Module Replacement/Repair

   If the button is not physically stuck but the code persists, the internal microswitch or membrane on the CSM circuit board has failed (shorted closed). Remove the armrest trim panels, disconnect the wiring harness to the CSM, and replace the entire Cab Switch Module, or send the module to an agricultural electronics repair specialist.
