John Deere 521167.02 – Cab Switch Module (CSM): HVAC Fan Speed Decrease Button Fault

   Press the fan speed decrease button a few times to attempt to unstick it and force a system recovery.

   Check the edges of the button for dirt, dust, or sticky residue (like spilled beverages) that might be holding the switch contact down.

   Turn the tractor's ignition switch OFF, wait a few moments, and turn it back ON to see if the module resets and clears the active code.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts while working on cab modules.

   Access the CSM

   Remove the interior cab trim panels surrounding the Cab Switch Module / HVAC control panel area.

   Remove the Module

   Unbolt the retaining screws holding the CSM in place.

   Disconnect Harnesses

   Carefully unplug the wiring harness connectors from the back of the module. Inspect the harness connectors for any signs of corrosion or bent pins that could cause a false reading.

   Install Replacement

   Connect the wiring harnesses to the new or repaired Cab Switch Module and secure it into the console.

   Reassembly and Testing

   Reinstall the cab trim panels, reconnect the battery, and turn the ignition on. Test the HVAC fan speed buttons to ensure the blower motor responds correctly and verify that code 521167.02 has moved from "Active" to "Stored" (or cleared entirely).
