Check the cause
Cycle power using the key switch or CommandCenter prompts to reboot the tractor's power
Inspect the Temperature Down button on the CommandARM for physical damage, sticking, or debris lodged around the switch housing
Check the CommandCenter display for accompanying ATC or CSM codes (such as CSM 168.4 for low supply voltage) that may indicate a broader CAN bus or wiring harness issue
Run the CSM—Sensor Supply Power and Ground Circuit Test via Service Advisor to ensure the module is receiving proper voltage
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts while servicing cab electronics.
Access the Module
Remove the trim panels on the CommandARM console to access the underside of the Cab Switch Module (CSM).
Inspect Wiring
Disconnect the wiring harness connectors to the CSM. Inspect the pins for corrosion, pushed-back pins, or moisture. Clean with electrical contact cleaner if necessary.
Replace or Repair the CSM
The individual buttons on the CSM keyboard are generally not serviceable at the dealer level. If the button is internally failed (stuck closed/open) and cannot be freed, the entire Cab Switch Module must be replaced. (Note: Some specialized agricultural electronics repair shops offer mail-in rebuild services for the CSM keyboard on a time-and-material basis if a new OEM part is cost-prohibitive).
Reassembly
Install the new or repaired CSM, reconnect the wiring harnesses, and reinstall the CommandARM trim.
Clear Codes
Reconnect the battery, turn the key on, and clear the stored diagnostic trouble codes via the CommandCenter display. Test the ClimaTrak temperature controls to verify the repair.
