John Deere 521322.07 – EIC: Immobilizer Control Device Fault

The control unit is unable to read the transponder chip inside the ignition key due to a lack of signal or an invalid signal from the immobilizer antenna coil.

   Verify the power supply and grounding of the immobilizer system/EIC module.

   Check the wiring harness between the immobilizer antenna (located at the ignition switch) and the EIC control unit. Look for broken wires, which are a common cause for the transponder code not being read.

   Ensure the correct programmed key is being used. A damaged key can sometimes mimic an antenna fault.

   Disconnect battery

   Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts.

   Remove cowling

   Remove the steering column/dash cowling to access the ignition switch assembly.

   Locate antenna

   Locate the immobilizer antenna, which is a ring/coil mounted directly around or adjacent to the ignition lock cylinder.

   Unplug connector

   Unplug the antenna's electrical connector from the main harness.

   Remove faulty antenna

   Unclip or unscrew the faulty antenna from the ignition barrel.

   Install new antenna

   Install the new OEM immobilizer antenna around the ignition lock and plug it into the harness.

   Reassemble and test

   Reassemble the steering column covers, reconnect the battery, and cycle the key to verify the EIC successfully reads the key and clears the 521322.07 code.
