John Deere 521393.06 – RLC: Wiper Park Feedback Current High

The wiper motor is drawing excessive electrical current (high amperage) when the system attempts to return the wiper arm to its resting "park" position. This is typically caused by a mechanical bind, a shorted internal park switch inside the motor, or a short in the wiring harness.

   Check the wiper arm and blade for physical obstructions (heavy mud, ice, or a bent wiper arm) that can cause mechanical binding.

   Inspect the wiring harness running from the RLC module to the wiper motor for pinched wires, chafing, or exposed copper.

   Disconnect the wiper motor and inspect the electrical connector for water intrusion, corrosion, or melted pins caused by high current draw.

   Perform a motor isolation test: if the arm moves freely and the wiring is intact, the internal park circuit of the wiper motor is likely shorted.

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent further electrical shorts or damage to the RLC module.

   Remove the Wiper Arm

   Lift the plastic cap at the base of the wiper arm, remove the retaining nut, and carefully pull the wiper arm off the splined motor shaft.

   Access the Motor

   Remove the interior cab roof liner or rear window trim panel to access the wiper motor assembly.

   Disconnect the Motor

   Unplug the electrical harness connector from the wiper motor.

   Remove the Faulty Motor

   Remove the mounting bolts securing the wiper motor to the cab frame/glass and extract the motor.

   Install the New Motor

   Position the replacement wiper motor, secure the mounting bolts, and plug in the electrical connector.

   Reassemble

   Reinstall the interior trim panels. Reattach the wiper arm to the exterior splined shaft and tighten the retaining nut.

   Clear Codes & Test

   Reconnect the battery. Use a diagnostic tool to clear the 521393.06 fault code from the RLC module. Turn on the tractor and test the wiper switch, ensuring the wiper sweeps and parks correctly without triggering a high amp draw code.
