John Deere 521404.02 – AIC: SCV XI Control Lever Switch/Sensor Conflict

Issue description

This condition occurs when the SCV XI Control Lever detent switch conflicts with the lever's actual physical position. The system logs this code when the signal voltage of the SCV XI control lever is out of range, or the switch status and the potentiometer signal voltage do not match. This typically results in a 'Limited Function' state for that specific hydraulic valve.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the SCV XI control lever on the CommandARM for physical damage, sticking, or debris that might prevent the lever from returning to its neutral position or engaging the detent properly.

  2. Check the wiring harness and connectors between the SCV XI control lever and the AIC module for loose connections, corrosion, or damaged pins.

  3. Use a multimeter or John Deere Service ADVISOR tool to verify the signal voltage of the SCV XI control lever potentiometer. Ensure the voltage smoothly transitions as the lever is moved and that the detent switch status matches the expected voltage range.
