John Deere 521407.02 – AIC (Armrest Interface Control Unit): SCV XIV Control Lever Switch/Sensor Conflict

A malfunction in the Selective Control Valve (SCV) 14 control lever system triggered by a conflict between the detent switch of the control lever and the sensor (potentiometer) voltage readings. The signal voltage is out of range, or the physical switch status and the potentiometer signal voltage do not match, resulting in disabled or limited function of the affected SCV.

   Check the SCV 14 control lever on the armrest for physical damage, binding, or debris that might prevent the lever from returning to neutral or fully engaging the detent switch.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the SCV 14 control lever and the AIC module for loose pins, corrosion, or chafed wires that could cause erratic voltage readings.

   Access the tractor's diagnostic addresses via the CommandCenter display to monitor the live voltage of the SCV 14 lever. Verify if the potentiometer signal sweeps smoothly as you move the lever and check if the detent switch state changes appropriately.

   Attempt to recalibrate the SCV control levers through the tractor's display monitor, as a lost calibration can sometimes cause the AIC to misinterpret the lever's position voltage.

   Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

   Remove the necessary trim panels and covers on the CommandARM (armrest) to access the internal AIC module and SCV lever assemblies.

   Locate the SCV 14 control lever assembly.

   Carefully disconnect the electrical harness connector from the faulty SCV lever.

   Remove the mounting screws/hardware securing the SCV 14 lever assembly to the armrest bracket and pull the unit out.
