   Physically test the Rear Hitch Return to Lower (Saved Depth) button on the armrest. Check if it feels stuck, damaged, or unresponsive.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors linking the Armrest Interface Control (AIC) to the main CAN bus and the HCC. Look for loose pins, corrosion, or chafed wires that could interrupt data transmission.

   Use a diagnostic tool to monitor the live data of the AIC to see if the module registers the button press internally. If the AIC sees the button press but the HCC logs a missing message, the issue is on the CAN bus. If the AIC does not see the button press, the issue is the switch or the AIC itself.
