John Deere 521413.02 – AIC: Armrest Multi-Function Lever Module Circuit Fault

The AIC module is unable to correctly read the signal from the side left switch (button 5) on the multi-function lever, indicating a circuit fault, electrical connectivity issue, or a loss of signal integrity. To maintain operational safety, the control unit automatically disables the function associated with button 5.

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and ensure all safety protocols are followed before disassembling cab components.

   Access the Lever

   Carefully remove the trim panels on the CommandARM™ console to access the base and wiring of the Armrest Multi-Function Lever.

   Address Wiring Issues

   If the diagnostic tests revealed faulty wiring or loose connections between the joystick and the AIC module, repair the wiring harness or securely reseat the connectors.

   Replace the Component

   If the wiring is intact but the switch itself failed the continuity test, the defective switch must be replaced. Note: Depending on the specific joystick revision, individual buttons may not be serviceable separately, requiring the replacement of the entire Multi-Function Lever assembly.

   Reassembly

   Reinstall the multi-function lever and secure the CommandARM™ trim panels.
