John Deere 521480.02 – AIC (Armrest Interface Control Unit): Armrest Rear Hitch Setup Controls Module Circuit Fault

A Local Interconnect Network (LIN) data fault originating from the rear hitch setup controls module. There is a data transfer problem between the Armrest Interface Control (AIC) software and the LIN Bus module located at position 'S'. Because the system cannot communicate with the dials that control the rate of drop, depth, and lift upper limit, the control unit shifts to a limited function mode to prevent incorrect operation of the rear hitch.

   Visually inspect the A065 Armrest Rear Hitch Setup Controls Module (Position S) for any signs of physical damage, liquid intrusion, or operational issues.

   Utilize John Deere Service Advisor or a compatible diagnostic tool to run the 'AIC—Armrest Rear Hitch Setup Controls Module Circuit Test' to analyze the LIN Bus module's ability to send and receive data accurately.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during the repair.

   Access the CommandARM™

   Carefully remove the necessary trim panels on the operator's armrest to access the internal LIN Bus modules.

   Wiring Repair

   If the diagnostic checks revealed damaged, chafed, or loose wiring between the A065 module and the AIC, repair or replace the affected sections of the wiring harness.
