John Deere 521538.05 – RLC (Roof Lighting Controller / Cab Roof Module): Left Middle Worklight on Front of Roof or Left Xenon (HID) Worklight on Front of Roof, Current Too Low
Issue description
The control software has registered that the electrical current at the output to this specific worklight is below the expected threshold, typically indicating an open circuit. As a result, the control software may limit or completely disable the functionality of the worklight.

Check the cause
Inspect the worklight circuit wiring and connectors for signs of open circuits, such as disconnected, corroded, or loose connections.
Verify the power supply to the worklight is stable and within the specified voltage range, inspecting the harness for issues causing a current drop.
Test the left middle worklight directly to see if it is functioning correctly and drawing the proper current.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to ensure safety, especially if the tractor is equipped with Xenon (HID) lights.
Access the Light
Locate the left middle worklight on the front of the cab roof.
Safety Warning (If HID)
Caution: High voltage. If the tractor is equipped with high-intensity discharge (HID) Xenon worklights, there is a risk of personal injury. Changing bulbs on Xenon lights and working on the ballast unit must be handled with extreme care.
Repair Wiring
If the diagnostic checks revealed an open circuit in the harness or a loose connector, repair or replace the compromised wiring/connector.
Replace Components
If the wiring is intact but the light fails to draw current, replace the faulty light component. Depending on the setup, this may be a standard halogen/LED bulb, a Xenon HID bulb, the electrical ballast, or the entire light assembly.
Reassemble and Test
Reconnect the battery, power on the tractor, and activate the worklights to ensure the code clears and the light functions properly.
