John Deere 521547.03 – CLC (Cab Load Controller): Left Rear Mud Guard (Fender) Work Light Circuit - Voltage Above Normal

The controller is detecting abnormally high voltage on the left rear fender work light circuit. This typically indicates a short to battery voltage in the wiring harness, or an open circuit (such as a blown bulb or disconnected plug) which causes the circuit's reference voltage to read higher than the normal operating range.

   Visually inspect the left rear work light bulb to see if it is burnt out (an open circuit is the most common cause of this code).

   Inspect the 2-pin connector (X112/1) for the left rear fender work light for corrosion, moisture, or backed-out pins.

   Test the wiring harness between the CLC and the X112/1 connector with a multimeter for a short to another power source or a broken ground wire.

   Cycle the key switch or tractor power to see if the code clears after a temporary glitch.

   Safety First

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable to prevent electrical spikes.

   Access the Light

   Locate the left rear mud guard/fender work light. Depending on the cab model, you may need to remove the cover under the fender (usually held by four screws) to access the socket.

   Disconnect the Harness

   Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the work light bulb base.

   Replace the Bulb/Assembly

   If it is a replaceable bulb housing, rotate the bulb base counterclockwise and remove it from the housing. Install a new bulb. If it is a sealed LED or halogen assembly, unbolt the housing from the fender bracket and install the replacement assembly.

   Repair Wiring (If Applicable)

   If the bulb is good but the code persists, trace the harness back to the Cab Load Controller. Splice and heat-shrink any chafed wires that are shorting to battery power.

   Reassembly

   Reconnect the wiring harness connector, reinstall the fender cover/screws, and reconnect the battery.

   Turn the key on, activate the work lights via the CommandCenter or cab switch, and verify the light illuminates and the 521547.03 code changes to "Inactive" or clears.
