John Deere 521560.05 – RLC (Roof Lighting Controller / Cab Roof Module / Cab Load Center): Right Outer Worklight on Rear of Roof or Right Turn-Signal Light on Rear of Roof (SAE), Current Too Low

The controller is detecting an open circuit on that specific lighting pin, which is almost always caused by a burned-out bulb, a disconnected plug, or a broken wire in the harness.

   Inspect the right rear outer roof work light / warning light (circuit E133) for a blown filament

   Check the connector at the light housing for corrosion, pushed-out pins, or moisture intrusion

   Trace the wiring harness from the right rear roof light back to the RLC module to check for open circuits or pinched wires

   Cycle the tractor's key switch off and back on to attempt a system recovery and see if the code clears

   Turn off the tractor engine and remove the key to ensure no power is flowing to the RLC module.

   Ensure the tractor is completely powered down before beginning work.

   Safely access the right rear outer corner of the cab roof.

   Use appropriate safety equipment to reach the cab roof.

   Remove the retaining screws or clips holding the right rear work light/warning light lens or housing in place.

   Carefully detach the housing to access the bulb.

   Extract the bulb from the socket. If the filament is broken or the glass is blackened, replace the bulb with a new OEM-equivalent halogen bulb.

   Inspect the bulb for obvious signs of failure.

   If upgrading to LEDs or replacing a sealed assembly, disconnect the wiring harness plug, apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the new connector, and plug in the new light assembly.

   Ensure a secure and corrosion-resistant connection for the new assembly.

   Reinstall the light housing and secure the hardware.

   Fasten the housing back into its original position.

   Turn the tractor's key switch to the ON position and activate the work lights/warning lights. Verify that the light illuminates and the 521560.05 fault code changes to an inactive state or clears from the CommandCenter display.

   Test the repair to confirm the circuit is restored and the code is resolved.
