John Deere 521562.05 – RLC: Right Inner Worklight on Rear of Roof or Right Xenon (HID) Worklight on Rear of Roof, Current Too Low

Issue description

The control software has registered that the current at the output to the rear inner right roof flood light is too low, which indicates an open circuit. The system's reaction to this fault is limited or no function of the affected worklight.

Check the cause

  1. Visually inspect the right inner worklight on the rear of the cab roof to see if the bulb is burnt out (most common cause of an open circuit).

  2. Inspect the wiring harness leading to the rear right inner roof light for severed wires, loose connections, or corroded pins.

  3. Cycle the key switch or power to the tractor, as some electrical system faults can be corrected by a simple power cycle.

Repair steps

  1. Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on the electrical system.

  2. Access the rear roof lighting array on the right side of the cab.

  3. Disconnect the wiring harness from the inner right worklight.

  4. Test the bulb/light assembly for continuity.

If the bulb is blown or the internal LED/HID circuit is broken, replace the worklight assembly or bulb.

  5. If the light assembly is good, use a multimeter to check the wiring harness back to the RLC module for continuity.

Repair any broken wires or replace damaged connector pins.

  6. Reconnect the worklight and restore battery power.

  7. Turn the key switch on and cycle power to the tractor to clear the code and verify that the right inner rear worklight is now functioning.
