John Deere 521927.05 – RPM: Range B Solenoid Current Too Low
Issue description
The control software has detected that the current value at the Range B solenoid is too low, which indicates an open circuit in the solenoid wiring or the solenoid itself. The transmission will experience limited or no function, as the affected range cannot be engaged and will be disabled until the next tractor start-up.

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to the Range B solenoid for any damage, corrosion, or open circuits
Verify there is a stable power supply reaching the solenoid
Test the Range B solenoid electrically to ensure it is functioning correctly and is not internally open
Check the RPM control unit for any additional faults
Inspect the hydraulic system that controls the range engagement for any leaks or pressure issues, ensuring hydraulic pressure is within the specified range
Check the mechanical components of the transmission for signs of wear, damage, or misalignment that might be preventing engagement
Repair steps
Repair Wiring
If the diagnostic checks reveal an open circuit in the wiring harness or a loose connector, repair the damaged wiring or replace the connector.
Replace Solenoid
If the wiring is intact but the Range B solenoid fails electrical testing (internal open circuit), remove and replace the faulty solenoid.
Address Mechanical/Hydraulic Issues
Repair or replace any faulty mechanical or hydraulic components discovered during the inspection.
Reset Control Software
Once repairs are made, restart the tractor to reset the control software and attempt to engage the range again.
Consult Technical Support
If the error persists after these steps, consult John Deere technical support or a certified technician for further diagnosis.
