John Deere 521935.06 – RPM (Direct Drive Range Module): Range A Solenoid Current Too High

This typically indicates a shorted circuit in the solenoid coil or the wiring harness. When this code is triggered, the transmission range is disabled until the next tractor start-up to protect the system.

   Verify Solenoid Operation: Test the Range A solenoid coil directly by measuring the resistance across the solenoid pins using a multimeter. If the resistance is near zero (shorted), the coil has failed internally.

   Inspect the Wiring Harness: Check the wiring harness running from the RPM (Direct Drive Range Module) to the Range A solenoid for chafed wires, melted insulation, or pinched lines that could be shorting to the tractor chassis (ground) or to another power wire.

   Check Connectors: Disconnect the harness at the solenoid and the module. Inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture, or debris that could bridge the connection and cause a short.
