John Deere 522189.02 – AIC (Armrest Interface Control / Cab Module) or ACU (Armrest Control Unit): iTEC™ Switch Circuit Fault / iTEC™ Sequence 3/4 Switch Circuit Conflict

Issue description

The iTEC system detects that the iTEC sequence button is stuck in the pressed position or there is a short/mismatch in the switch's electrical contacts.

Check the cause

  1. Check for a stuck button: Visually and physically inspect the iTEC sequence 3/4 switch on the armrest console. The system logs this fault when it detects a 'stuck fault'.

  2. Attempt System Recovery: Manually set the switch to the un-pressed (neutral/released) position to attempt system recovery.

  3. Power Cycle: Turn off the tractor, wait a moment, and turn the ignition back on to see if the corrective action clears the code.

Repair steps

  1. Inspect and Clean

Check the iTEC buttons on the CommandARM console for dirt, spilled liquids, or debris that might be causing the button to physically bind or stick. Clean the area carefully.

  2. Actuate the Switch

Press and release the iTEC 3/4 sequence switch several times to ensure the mechanical spring returns the button fully to the un-pressed position.

  3. Cycle the Ignition

Turn the tractor's key switch OFF, wait for the modules to power down, and turn it back ON.

  4. Test the Circuit

If the button is not physically stuck but the code remains active, the internal contacts of the switch or the armrest switch matrix have failed (circuit conflict).

  5. Replace the Component

Depending on the tractor's exact configuration, you will need to replace either the standalone iTEC switch kit or the larger Armrest Switch Module/Matrix.
