Issue description

The control software detects that the voltage in the positive lead of the park lock solenoid valve 1 is too low. This typically indicates a short circuit to ground in the sensor circuit or a failure within the solenoid coil itself, resulting in limited or no function of the park lock mechanism and potentially causing the transmission to enter a protective mode.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness leading to the Park Lock Solenoid Valve 1 (Y15/1) for any signs of a short circuit to ground or rubbed-through insulation where the harness routes along the transmission housing.

  2. Disconnect the plug at the park lock solenoid and inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture ingress, or damage. Ensure the connection is tight and secure.

  3. Using a digital multimeter, measure the resistance (ohms) across the pins of the solenoid valve. If the coil is shorted internally (reading significantly lower than OEM spec or showing continuity to the solenoid body/ground), the solenoid is defective.

  4. Ensure that the solenoid valve circuit is properly grounded and that there are no grounding issues causing abnormal voltage drops.

Repair steps

  1. Safety First

    Park the tractor on level ground. Block the wheels securely, as you will be working on the parking lock system and the tractor could roll.

  2. Disconnect Power

    Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical spikes during the repair.

  3. Locate the Solenoid

    Locate the Park Lock Solenoid Valve on the transmission control block (usually situated on the side or top of the IVT transmission housing).

  4. Remove the Faulty Solenoid

    Disconnect the electrical harness connector. Clean the area around the solenoid thoroughly to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system. Unbolt and remove the defective solenoid valve.

  5. Install the New Solenoid

    Lubricate the O-rings on the new solenoid valve with clean hydraulic/transmission fluid. Insert the new solenoid into the control block and torque the mounting bolts to OEM specifications.

  6. Reconnect and Test

    Reconnect the electrical harness and the battery. Turn the key on, clear the stored 522379.04 fault code using a diagnostic tool or the tractor's command center, and test the park lock engagement/disengagement multiple times to ensure the click is audible and the tractor holds its position.
