John Deere 522379.15 – Rear Chassis Module (PLC): Park Lock Solenoid High Amp Draw Solenoid 2 Direct Drive
Issue description
This code indicates that the controller is detecting a higher-than-expected current draw (high amps) on the circuit for Park Lock Solenoid 2. This condition is typically caused by a short to ground in the transmission wiring harness or an internal short circuit within the solenoid coil itself, which causes it to pull excessive amperage.

Check the cause
Inspect the transmission wiring harness and the connector at the Y15/2 Park Lock Solenoid Valve for any signs of physical damage, loose connections, moisture, or corrosion.
Inspect the circuit for a short to ground or a short to positive between the Rear Chassis Module (PLC) and the Park Lock Solenoid.
Measure the resistance and current flow of the Park Lock Solenoid coil using a multimeter. A resistance reading that is lower than the OEM specification indicates an internal short in the coil.
Verify the 5-volt power supply and ground circuits for the Park Lock system to ensure proper voltage is reaching the sensors and valves.
Repair steps
Safety First
Ensure the tractor is parked on level ground, the engine is off, the key is removed, and the machine is securely supported before working on the transmission.
Harness Repair
If the diagnostic tests reveal a wiring issue (chafed wires or melted insulation causing a short), repair or replace the damaged section of the transmission wiring harness.
Solenoid Replacement
If the solenoid coil is internally shorted: Locate the Park Lock Solenoid (Solenoid 2) on the transmission control valve block. Disconnect the electrical plug from the defective solenoid. Remove the retaining nut/mechanism and extract the solenoid coil and cartridge from the valve block. Discard the old O-rings. Install the new Park Lock Solenoid with new O-rings, secure the retaining nut, and reconnect the wiring harness.
Clear Codes
Clear the fault codes using a diagnostic tool or the tractor's onboard display, then test the park lock function (engagement and disengagement) to ensure the issue is resolved.
