John Deere 522390.09 – XSC: Incorrect CAN BUS Message, Information from Implement
Issue description
The tractor's control module receives no valid information from the connected implement via the implement CAN Bus network, causing the tractor's control software to automatically abort and deactivate all functions of Tractor Implement Automation (TIA) and AutoTrac guidance.

Check the cause
Inspect the implement CAN Bus wiring and connectors for any signs of physical damage, loose connections, or corrosion, ensuring all connections are secure and properly terminated.
Monitor CAN Bus traffic using a John Deere diagnostic tool to look for anomalies, excessive errors, or an overloaded network.
Verify that the implement's control software is up to date and functioning correctly, checking for software bugs or compatibility issues that might disrupt data transmission.
Repair steps
Attempt Vehicle Recovery
Return the tractor's shift lever to the Park position to attempt a basic vehicle recovery and reset the automation system.
Cycle Power
Cycle the key switch to see if the communication fault clears. If the code persists, proceed to physical inspection.
Clean and Reconnect
Disconnect the implement CAN bus connections. Clean the terminals to remove any dirt or corrosion, then securely reconnect them.
Software Update
If the physical connections are sound, update the implement control software to the latest version to resolve compatibility bugs.
Replace Faulty Components
If the wiring harness, implement connector, or CAN bus terminator is damaged or failing to terminate the network properly (causing signal reflections), replace the faulty component.
Parts you might need
(3)CAN Bus Terminator (Mini Boot Style / Electronic Control Unit)
RE207311Installed at the end of a CAN bus implement or harness circuit to terminate the network and prevent signal reflections. Fits 5M, 6M, 6R, 7R, 8R, and 9R series tractors.
ISO Cab Implement CAN Bus Adapter Wiring Harness
RE322780Connects ISO-compliant implements (like planter frame control boxes) to 7R, 8R, 8RT, 8RX, 9R, 9RT, and 9RX tractors.
9-PIN Electrical Connector Assembly
RE58827Standard 9-pin implement connector assembly.
