John Deere 522390.11 – TIQ, XSC, XSA, PTF, TSA, HCC, ACU, or TID: Tractor-Implement Automation™ (TIA) Fault
Issue description
This error is generated when the tractor's 'come-home' (limp) mode is activated or when a full stop is commanded by the steering system, causing the control software to immediately deactivate all functions of the Tractor-Implement Automation™, AutoTrac™, and Auto Headland systems. It can also be triggered by a software compatibility issue on 6R tractors using third-party steering systems.

Check the cause
Check for primary fault codes in the transmission, steering, or CAN Bus systems, as this is often a secondary reaction code to limp mode
Inspect implement CAN Bus connections between the tractor and implement for security, corrosion, or damage
Verify CLC software version if using an Ag Leader steering system on a 6R tractor, as a 2021 update is known to cause handshake failures
Repair steps
Perform a Soft Reset
Turn the tractor off, wait 30 seconds for the modules to power down, and turn the key back on.
Attempt Vehicle Recovery
If the tractor is in limp mode, return the transmission shift lever to the 'Park' position, and restart the engine to attempt a system recovery.
Address Root Cause Codes
If the code returns immediately, diagnose and repair the other active fault codes present in the TIQ, XSC, or engine modules. Fixing the primary fault that caused the limp mode will automatically restore the Auto Headland and TIA functions.
Repair CAN Bus Wiring
If no other codes are present but communication with the implement is failing, clean the implement CAN Bus connectors with contact cleaner. Repair any chafed wiring or loose pins in the harness connecting the tractor to the implement.
Software Update/Rollback
Ensure the implement control software and tractor control software are up to date. If the issue is caused by the Ag Leader/JD 6R compatibility bug, contact your dealer for the specific software patch or workaround.
