John Deere 522454.03 – PTR: Main Control Module Has Noted An Issue With The Signal Voltage From The Creep Position Sensor

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to the Creep Position Sensor / Creep Control Potentiometer for any visible damage, chafing, or pinched wires.

   Disconnect the sensor and inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture, or pushed-back terminals.

   Using a multimeter, verify the reference voltage (usually 5V) and ground at the sensor connector.

   Back-probe the signal wire and slowly actuate the creep control to perform a signal sweep test. Watch for smooth voltage transitions. If the voltage spikes, drops out, or stays stuck at the reference voltage, the potentiometer is internally faulty.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the machine and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical spikes.

   Access the Sensor

   Locate the Creep Position Sensor / Potentiometer (typically located on the operator console near the creep speed dial/lever).

   Remove the Sensor

   Unplug the electrical connector. Remove the mounting screws or retaining nut holding the potentiometer in place.

   Install the New Part

   Mount the replacement Creep Position Sensor and secure the hardware.

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical connector back in, ensuring it clicks and locks securely. Reconnect the battery.

   Calibrate and Clear

   Turn the key to the ON position. Use a John Deere Service ADVISOR tool (or equivalent diagnostic scanner) to clear the 522454.03 inactive code. Test the creep function to ensure smooth operation and verify the code does not return.
