Check the cause
Check the Differential Lock button on the CommandARM console for physical damage, sticky residue (e.g., spilled drinks), or debris that might be holding the button down.
Press and release the button a few times to see if it mechanically un-sticks, which may prompt a system recovery.
Turn the ignition switch off, wait a few moments, and turn it back on to re-initialize the CSM and see if the code clears.
Use John Deere Service ADVISOR to monitor the CSM switch status (e.g., CSM 010/011/012/013 UIM Switches Status) to verify if the module is receiving a continuous 'ON' signal from the button.
Repair steps
Clean the Console
If the button is simply stuck due to debris, thoroughly clean the edges of the button with an electronics-safe contact cleaner. Cycle the key to clear the code.
Prepare for Replacement
If the button is internally shorted or physically broken, the Cab Switch Module (CSM) or the specific CSM keyboard panel must be replaced (the button is typically integrated into the module).
Disconnect Power
Turn off the machine and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
Remove Trim
Carefully remove the trim panels and retaining screws on the CommandARM console to access the underside of the switch modules.
Remove the CSM
Disconnect the wiring harnesses from the faulty Cab Switch Module. Unbolt and remove the module from the armrest.
Install the New Part
Seat the new CSM into the CommandARM, secure the mounting hardware, and reconnect the electrical harnesses.
Reassemble and Calibrate
Reinstall the console trim and reconnect the battery. Connect John Deere Service ADVISOR to perform the CSM Control Unit Configuration and Calibration (Device ID Address CSM 000) so the tractor's main computer recognizes the new module.
