The control unit detects that the floor-mounted differential lock switch has been closed (pressed down) for more than 15 seconds after the machine powers up, indicating the switch is physically stuck, obstructed, or has an electrical short.

   Perform a visual cab inspection to ensure the operator's foot, a heavy object, or a shifted floor mat is not resting on the differential lock switch

   Restart the machine to reset communication messages and verify if the active service code reappears

   Inspect the differential lock switch on the floor and its wiring harness for signs of physical damage, wear, or electrical shorts

   Listen for the relay click by manually pressing the diff lock switch; no click indicates the switch actuator has likely failed internally

   Clear the Area

   Remove the floor mat and clean any dirt or debris packed around the base of the differential lock switch.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the machine and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during replacement.

   Access the Switch

   Depending on the tractor model, remove the floor plate or access panel surrounding the differential lock switch actuator.

   Remove the Faulty Switch

   Disconnect the electrical wiring harness connector from the switch. Unbolt the mounting bracket holding the switch to the floorboard.

   Install the New Actuator

   Mount the new differential lock switch actuator into the bracket and secure it to the floor.

   Reconnect and Test

   Plug the electrical connector back in, reconnect the battery, and power up the tractor. Engage and disengage the differential lock to ensure it functions properly without triggering the 524223.03 fault code.
