Check the cause

  1. Attempt a system recovery by pressing and releasing the Diff Lock Auto button

  2. Cycle the ignition switch off and back on to see if the CSM resets and clears the code

  3. Inspect the differential lock switch on the CommandARM for physical damage, sticking, or debris preventing the button from returning to its neutral state

  4. Check the wiring harness and connectors beneath the CommandARM for loose connections, corrosion, or pinched wires between the switch and the CSM

Repair steps

  1. Attempt Reset

Press the Diff Lock Auto button. If the code clears and the differential lock engages/disengages normally, no further action is required.

  2. Disconnect Power

If the fault persists, turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

  3. Access the CSM

Remove the retaining screws and trim pieces on the CommandARM console to access the Cab Switch Module and the underside of the switch panel.

  4. Test/Replace the Switch

Disconnect the differential lock switch. Test it for proper continuity when pressed and released. If the switch is internally shorted or physically broken, replace the switch assembly.

  5. Inspect the CSM

If the switch tests fine, inspect the CSM connector pins for damage. If the CSM itself is failing to process the button input (a known issue where the module throws communication or switch errors), the CSM will need to be replaced or sent out for professional board repair.

  6. Reassembly

Install the new switch or CSM, reconnect the wiring harnesses, and reassemble the CommandARM.

  7. Verification

Reconnect the battery, turn on the ignition, and verify that code 522559.02 is no longer active. Test the Diff Lock Auto function in the field.
