John Deere 522559.02 – CSM: Malfunction of the automatic button for differential lock

Check the cause
Press and release the differential lock automatic button to attempt a system recovery/reset.
Turn the ignition switch OFF, wait a few moments, and turn it back ON to see if the code clears.
Inspect the wiring harness connecting the differential lock switch to the Cab Switch Module (CSM). Ensure there are no loose connections, corrosion, or damaged wires that could cause an intermittent signal.

Disconnect Power
Always disconnect the tractor's battery before working on electrical components to prevent short circuits.
Access the Switch
Locate the differential lock switch/actuator (typically floor-mounted or integrated into the lower cab console depending on the exact R-series model).
Disconnect Harness
Carefully unplug the electrical connector from the faulty differential lock switch.
Remove the Switch
Unbolt or unclip the old actuator/switch from its mounting bracket.
Install New Part
Seat the new differential lock switch into place and secure it.
Reconnect
Plug the wiring harness into the new switch and reconnect the battery.
Test
Turn the ignition on, clear any stored CSM codes, and test the differential lock engagement to ensure maximum traction is restored and the code does not return.
