John Deere 522563.08 – CSM (Cab Switch Module): Switch module button stuck

The Work Light Option 1-2 Button is continuously depressed or electrically shorted in the closed position, preventing normal operation.

   Cycle the power by turning the key switch off, waiting a few moments, and turning it back on to see if the code clears

   Check the CommandCenter™ display for any on-screen solutions and follow them

   Inspect the Work Light Option 1-2 button on the armrest console for physical obstructions, sticky residue, or debris wedging the button down

   Clean the Switch

   If the button is physically sticking, use an electronics-safe contact cleaner and a soft brush to dislodge any debris around the edges of the Work Light Option 1-2 button.

   Test the Module

   If cleaning does not unstick the button and cycling the power does not clear the code, the internal contacts of the CSM have likely failed.

   Repair or Replace the CSM

   Repair: Send the CSM to a third-party agricultural electronics specialist (such as Ilgenfritz Mechatronics) for mail-in repair. Replacement: Disconnect the battery, remove the armrest/console trim panels to access the underside of the CSM, disconnect the wiring harnesses, and swap in a new OEM Cab Switch Module.
