Check the cause
Inspect the E-SCV shortcut button on the CommandARM for dirt, spilled liquids, or debris that might be physically wedging the button down. Clean the area carefully with electrical contact cleaner or compressed air.
Turn the tractor ignition off, wait a few moments, and turn it back on to power cycle and reset the CSM.
Check the CommandCenter display for any specific on-screen corrective actions, perform them, and cycle the key again.
Use John Deere Service ADVISOR to check the 'CSM 031—Armrest Navigation Bar Shortcut Inputs Status' to verify if the module is internally reading a continuous button press.
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
Remove CommandARM Assembly
Remove the mounting cap screws securing the CommandARM cover/assembly to access the internal modules.
Disconnect Harness
Carefully disconnect the control wiring harness from the Cab Switch Module (armrest control unit).
Remove the CSM
Remove the mounting cap screws holding the CSM in place and extract the module.
Install New Module
Install the replacement CSM and tighten the mounting screws.
Reassembly
Reconnect the wiring harness and reinstall the CommandARM assembly.
Calibration
Power on the tractor. A new CSM will likely require software configuration and calibration (Device ID Address, SCV lock inputs, etc.) using John Deere Service ADVISOR to pair it with the tractor's main ECU.
