   System Recovery Attempt: Press and release button 5 on the armrest navigation bar to see if the system can recover the circuit (often resolves temporary stuck-button states).

   Harness Inspection: Check the Armrest Navigation Bar Module extension harness (Harness W577 is referenced in the 8R electrical schematics) for any pinched wires, loose connections, or damaged pins leading to the CSM.

   Disconnect battery

   Disconnect the negative battery terminal before beginning electrical work in the cab.

   Remove trim

   Carefully remove the trim surrounding the armrest control console to access the Cab Switch Module (CSM) and the Armrest Navigation Bar.

   Disconnect the wiring harness (W577) from the navigation bar module. Inspect the connector for corrosion or bent pins. Clean with contact cleaner if necessary.

   If the wiring is intact and the code persists after reassembly, the internal circuit for button 5 has failed. The Cab Switch Module / Armrest Navigation Bar Module cannot typically be serviced at the component level and must be replaced.

   Install the new CSM/Navigation Bar module, reconnect the harness, and reinstall the armrest trim.
