Check the cause
Inspect the MFWD rocker switch on the side console for physical damage, sticking, or liquid intrusion
Remove the console panel and inspect the wiring harness connector for loose pins, corrosion, or pushed-back terminals
Test the switch for proper continuity in all positions (Off, Auto, On)
Check the CAN high and CAN low wiring between the switch harness and the CCU for open circuits or shorts to ground
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts.
Access the Switch
Carefully pry up or unscrew the side console/dash trim panel housing the MFWD rocker switch.
Remove the Switch
Squeeze the retaining tabs on the back/sides of the rocker switch and push it out through the front of the panel.
Disconnect
Unplug the electrical harness connector from the back of the switch.
Install New Part
Plug the harness into the new OEM rocker switch, then snap the switch back into the console panel.
Reassembly & Clearing
Reinstall the console trim, reconnect the battery, and turn the key to the ON position. Clear the stored CCU fault codes using a diagnostic tool or the onboard display.
Test Operation
Engage and disengage the MFWD switch to ensure the front-wheel drive activates and the code does not return.
